Leading lives in a city like Dhaka is every introvert’s nightmare. Moreover, finding places where you can hide away for even a few hours is unbelievably difficult. Therefore, today we bring you a list of places for introverts that are worth a visit.

Tagore Terrace

Get ready to indulge yourself into this Rabindranath themed cafe! Situated in the prime location of Banani, it hasn’t been that long that the cafe came to be but it has gained a lot of popularity within a short period of time. It’s a rooftop cafe so you know that it has an outdoor space, too. The interior consists of bright colored sofas along with a few scattered shelves consisting of Rabindranath’s writings which gives the cafe an overall homely vibe. Whenever you visit the place, you will always hear the late poet’s songs playing on loop. The renowned architect Mustafa Khalid Palash is the founder and the designer. This little safe haven is perfect for a serene afternoon when you just want to grab a book and a cup of coffee.

Cuppa Coffee Lounge

Looking from the outside, you would not be able to tell there’s a spacious cafe inside. The cafe is located at the Gulshan-2 circle which is one of the best places for introverts and it’s very convenient if you live around Gulshan, Banani or Baridhara. Besides coffee, they also have delicious food at a very affordable price. Cuppa Coffee Lounge is an ideal place if you want to unwind after a long day after office; hence, one of the places to visit alone.. Afterall, we all need a little quiet time to ourselves. However, once in a while, this cafe also holds various kinds of events for extroverts, too, such as Salsa nights.

North End Coffee Roasters

Before they opened several branches all over Dhaka, Northend started from this branch. Because of its location, not a lot of people know about it. However, this is one of the best places for introverts. Whether you want to get some work done in silence or just simply enjoy a quiet time at a coffee shop, this is surely the place. Moreover, the quiet nature of this cafe makes it a great place to have one-on-one meetings or even a cozy date.

Cafe Memoir

Time: 12 PM – 11:30 PM

This cafe is a gem for Uttara dwellers! Not only does this place serve great coffee, it is also the perfect place for a regular hangout with friends or family. Their steaks and Calamaris are among their popular items. Uttara has been slowly developing but the lack of good eateries remain; until now. Hopefully, you will think the same when you visit this cafe.

Cafe Mango

Address: House 58, Rd No. 15A, Dhanmondi
Time: Everyday, 8:30 AM – 11 PM

Dhanmondi is one of the busiest parts of Dhaka. Hence, finding a quiet place there to spend some alone time is difficult. However, if you’re an introvert, you will most likely end up loving this cafe. The ambience of this place along with the interior that has a touch of elegance and coziness, creates a nice oasis away from the chaotic streets nearby. If you’re a Dhanmondi dweller, this place should be on your list of must-visit places!

BatighAr

Address: 7th floor, Bishwo Shahitto Kendro Building, Bishwo Shahitto Kendro Ln, Banglamotor
Time: Everyday 10 AM – 10 PM

This book superstore houses over one lac books written by around ten thousand writers. This is one of the best places to visit alone, especially if you’re a book-lover. The architecture of the inside of the store was probably inspired by the famous Lalbagh. Even though it’s a book superstore, it acts as a library since readers can stay and read and have refreshments such as various kinds of beverages. Batighar can be the perfect hideout when you want to lose yourself in the world of fiction and fantasies.

Museum of Independence

Address: Suhrawardy Uddyan
Time: Saturday to Wednesday, 10:30 AM – 5 PM, Friday 3 – 8 PM

Designed by the renowned architect Marina Tabassum and Kashef Mahbub Chowdhury, this museum is the only underground museum in the country. The plaza area of 5669 square meter documents everything from the Mughal era to our nation’s Independence in 1971. The museum includes a multimedia projection theatre, amphitheatre and three water pools. When you’re tired of going to cafes and eateries, places to visit alone like this make having ‘me’ time the best (considering it’s literally an underground space, you will be literally out of everyone’s reach!).
