After the holy Eid ul-fitr, July went by full of events and planning. Coming up is August with the holy Eid ul-Adha and it’s going to be just as eventful. Alongside shopping for eid, visiting these events wouldn’t be the worst idea. If you want to avoid a Qurbani Eid of just eating beef and alzing about the house, these events could be must-visits for you. So let’s begin finding some things to do in August.

Panache Eid Showcasing At Unimart II

Panache Hub is putting together a huge new collection for Eid ul-Adha which would be great for first time buyers of these items. This Eid, expect the presence of about 30 different local boutique houses. So you’ll find only clothes there? Of course not. You’ll get everything from clothes to local and foreign jewelry and accessories. Make sure you make the time to visit the event.

Flamenco and Jazz with Parijat Moumon & Kaartik

For lovers of flamenco and jazz, you should really head over to this event when looking for things to do in August. The evening may start kick start your energy reserves for the coming Eid preparations. There will be live performances of flamenco by Parijat Moumon and jazz by Kaartik. Pachforon Ilshe guri

Pachforon is a local artistic event planner who is hosting an event this time containing numerous local crafts. Pachforon is a great platform for lovers of the art of crafting where they can grow as a community. You’ll find lots of crafts and lots of food here. Who will be there? Tripti, Khadi, Shorla, Doyita, Tentareli, Boka Box, Home Junction with Little Human and many more. This two day event really is for everyone.

Aleya Twist

Time: 7PM to 8PM

Venue: British Counsel Bangladesh and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy

British Counsel Bangladesh is in partnership with London based Komola Collective to bring the theatrical production of Aleya Twist. The production is a showcase of all the things women, both from rural and urban areas, have trouble speaking out about. Make sure you sign up for the event. The event will be at the British Counsel at Fuller Road on the 6th and at Shilpakala Academy on the 7th.


Art needs no explaining

Date: 12th-20th August

Time: 3PM to 9PM

Venue: Drik Gallery, House no. 78, Road no. 8/a, Dhaka 1207

Right after Eid ul-Adha begins all the art exhibitions we love. Young artists are coming together to put on an exhibition for people of all ages. Expect all sorts of artsy types to hang out here. Tribute to Mad Cartoon Exhibition by Unmad

Mad about MAD

Date: 23rd-24th August

Time: 3PM to 8PM

 The renowned American Warner Brothers’ MAD comics is being honored by Bangladesh’s oldest comic paper, Unmad. This event will run for three whole days at Dhanmondi’s Drik Gallery starting on 23rd August. If you love comics, find your way there.

Unlimited Burger Festival – 2019

We are about to be graced with an Unlimited Burger Festival at the Uttara Friends Club Field. If you get tired of all the regular beef and polao after the glorious Eid Qurbani, try this event out for size. There will be more beef, but expect more types of burgers as well.
