Upon visiting this event, you will experience Lalon and folk song performances, both solo and groups, a competition based on Lalon songs, and a seminar. Moreover, there will be various shops that will sel handcrafted local products and traditional decorative items, symbolising our culture. If you’re looking to visit an event that’s out of the ordinary then this is it! Alliance Francaise de Dhaka is organizing this event on the occasion of the World Music Day. So, here’s a glimpse back to its origin. Fete de musique is a music festival that originally began in France, way back in 1982. The concept was initiated by the then French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang. However, he proposed the idea in 1981. Since then, June 21st is celebrated as the World Music Day in more than a hundred countries! This event is open for all. However, if you want to perform, contact them as soon as possible since they will stop taking submissions by June 15.
