Bituminous is a combination of different organic chemical substrates. It is highly waterproof, sticky, adhesive and liquid. Bitumen coating protects the roof base from ultraviolet penetration and deterioration. It is applied on top of the felt and is also susceptible to fire hazards. For making reinforced concrete roof waterproofing, bituminous waterproofing membranes are used widely in Bangladesh.
