Welcome to the Bangabandhu Safari Park

You might think it would be a hassle to travel to Bangabandhu Safari Park, because of it’s location outside the city. But the distance is a lot shorter than you think it would be. Situated only 40 km from Dhaka, the Safari Park can be found a bit further from Bagher Bazar on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway. Don’t think that’s the whole journey, though. To see the majestic animals of the Safari Park, you will have to delve further. Head 3 km to the west, and you will come across the entrance gate of the Bangabandhu Safari Park. Once you are inside, you will see walkways decorated with flowers, a tiger, a bear, a falcon, and a kangaroo in their natural habitat. But do not be scared, as these are just lifeless concrete statues.

Towering trees guard the deep forests of the Safari Park. You have entered the lush green forests to be one with nature. Seeing the tigers and lions roaming around freely. Seems like a dream, no? Don’t be scared, as there’s 2 whole inches of thick glass separating you from the animals. This is an experience that you can only get in the largest Safari Park in Asia, alongside Safari World in Thailand. The forests are the ideal sanctuary for animals. Bangabandhu Safari Park is divided into five parts: Bangabandhu Square, Core Safari, Biodiversity Park, Safari Kingdom, and the Extensive Asian Safari Park.

You will also find a fountain lake, Nature History Museum, and eco-resorts in the square. The core safari is the crown jewel of the Safari Park. The core consists of 1237 acres of lush green forests housing wild animals and exotic birds. You can only enter using special vehicles, which you can board after paying boarding fees. The safety of the visitors is of the highest importance. This is a golden opportunity to see wild animals in their natural habitat. The park would also be a great visit for bird lovers, with 34 different types of birds in the core.

If you are thinking of grabbing a bite, then there are a handful of restaurants outside the entrance of the park. However, it’s location near to a tourist attraction will result in the food being a bit expensive. Before heading for the Safari Park, you will find local restaurants at Bagher Bazar. The Safari Park also has two food courts, where you will find fast food, snacks, soft drinks, and chips. They also serve lunch if you make reservations in the morning. Be wary of the prices, as food can be very expensive inside.
