The Shilpakala Academy is on the opposite of the Anti-Corruption Commission in the Segunbagicha area of Ramna. The primary purpose of creating an art academy is to develop our indigenous culture. The Shilpakala Academy has several other departments such as Fine Arts Department, Drama and Film Affairs Department, Music and Dance Department, Research and Publication Department, Training Department, Production Department, Administration, and Finance Department and Training Provision. The Academy of Arts has several other publications.
There are popular publications like Art of Bangladesh Series and the Shilpakala Bulletin from books on theater and drama. The National Theater of Shilpakala Academy has the main theater hall, experimental theater hall, and studio theater hall for auditoriums, meetings, seminars, theaters, and other events. Abdullah Abu Saeed’s journey to develop Bangladesh as a self-educated nation began forty years ago. They started with ten young people and 34 rupees received from a gentleman for the purchase of ten books for them. Today the number of members is 26 lakhs. This journey of several decades to build enlightened people has given birth to many passengers of light today. The main goal of Biswasahitya Kendra is to create opportunities for enlightened people all over the country. To achieve these goals, Biswasahitya Kendra has organized various programs since 1986. School and College Programs, Development Activities, National level library activities, Mobile Library, Dhaka Library, Alor Ishkul, publishing activities, audio-visual activities, collection, and publishing of thought essays in Bangla, Biswasahitya Kendra Cultural Building, Mobile Book Fair, etc.
