It’s that wonderful time of year again! Everybody loves the idea of Christmas, whether they celebrate it or not. And in recent times, we’ve been seeing more people in Bangladesh embrace the spirit. You can always setup a fun get together with friends but don’t you really want to emulate the season? To prepare you, we’ve put together this article so that you too can join in on the celebrations and plan a Christmas party of your own!
Christmas tree
What is Christmas without a Christmas tree? Just a really cold party… so go get yourself one immediately! Christmas trees have become quite available in Dhaka over the last couple of years. For those with an apartment in Gulshan, you’re in luck. Christmas trees can now easily be found in the DNCC Market in Gulshan 1. They come in various sizes and the trees are available with or without decorations. You can also get your hand on ornaments separately if you have your own designs! So if you really want to arrange a Christmas party at home, make sure you have a Christmas tree to center it around.
Decorations
The Christmas tree is the focal point of your party, but the rest of the home needs some seasonal love too. Get wreathes, fairy lights, Christmas hats, candles to set the mood… get the works!
Your colors are definitely green, red and white, but feel free to add some bright colors of your own if you’re feeling creative. And if you have a pet in the house, include them when you arrange a Christmas party. A dog makes a great reindeer! Why should they be left out of the fun?

Christmas is all about spirit and what says spirit more than music? There are thousands upon thousands of wonderful and beautiful Christmas songs that will make you cheery no matter how much you want to be the Grinch. Christmas across the world is full of tiny themed snacks like candy canes, brownies and the gingerbread man. This has now been incorporated into many different shapes like reindeer, Christmas trees and tree ornaments. Hot chocolate is also a winner this time of year. Almost everyone has a sweet tooth, even if they hide it. And for those that want something a bit heavier, get a Christmas turkey!
Secret santa
Gifts are such a major part of the season that it’s one of the first things that come to mind when we hear Christmas. We all love them and everyone is in an adoring spirit, so why not use such an opportunity to spread some love?
Whether you plan a Christmas party at home or in the office, Secret Santa is often around. This means simply coordinating with everyone beforehand where everyone is given a random name of a party member. You are to then get that person a gift but they’ll never know who gave it. This concept has brought smiles to so many faces, it’s unbelievable. The little gesture of selflessness truly encompasses the spirit of Christmas.
Though Christmas parties in Dhaka have been happening only for a few years, people are really embracing the spirit of the season.
