Bangladesh International Tutorial – Gulshan 2
Founded in 1983, BIT is one of the oldest English Medium schools in Dhaka. Over the years, the school has expanded their sections around renowned local areas; finally acquiring their campus in Uttara which has the capacity of having 2000 students which makes it one of the largest private schools in Dhaka.
Manarat Dhaka International School – Gulshan 2
Manarat is a trust-owned school that was founded in 1979 and established in 1985. The institute follows the British Curriculum. Moreover, the school is one of the very few schools in Dhaka that offers extra Islamic teachings and inspires student to strengthen their beliefs. Along with providing instructions in English Medium, Manarat also teaches Arabic language to children from a very early age. The campus has the capacity to withhold around 3500 students, 250 teaching staff and 150 administrators, making it one of the biggest English Medium schools in Dhaka.
Oxford International School – Dhanmondi
Founded in 1987, Oxford International School happens to be one of the earliest English medium schools in Dhaka. The co-ed school started off with a rented two-storied building near the Dhanmondi lake. Since then, the school expanded in terms of the number of students, staff and branches. The institute has several branches located in four prominent locations in Dhaka including Dhanmondi, Uttara, Gulshan and Banasree. At present, the school has approximately 2500 students and 250 faculties, additionally with an international student body. Oxford International School follows both the schooling system of University of Cambridge International Examinations, UK and Edexcel, UK.
Scholastica – Mirpur
This is undoubtedly one the best in our list of English medium schools. Founded in 1977, Scholastica is an English immersion school in Dhaka. The school is known for possessing a strong alumni network as well as one of the elite schools in Dhaka. Like many other prominent institutes, MDIC has two shifts for your little ones; Morning and Day shift. Since Manarat is not a co-ed school, it has different buildings for Girls’ and Boys’ section which also includes designated fields for each section. Moreover, the school transport facility provides several buses to take the students and faculties to and from the campus and their destinations. Thank you, this was helpful. I think you also missed Canadian International School Bangladesh. They follow a Nova Scotia curriculum and are accredited by the Canadian government. Maybe create an article promoting English Medium schools that promote other curriculums, and not just IGCSE, CIS, O and A levels.
